4. Install the PCI-X riser-card power cable.

a. Separate the P4 connector on the cable that connects the power supply to

the CD/DVD interposer card.

b. Connect the short 4-wire length of the riser-card power cable (2 to 3) to

the two halves of the P4 connector, as shown in the illustration.

c. Make sure that the long 2-wire section (2 to 1) reaches the riser-card

assembly. Route the cable between fans 4 and 5 to reach the assembly.

5. Touch the static-protective package that contains the PCI-X riser-card assembly

to any unpainted metal surface on the server. Then, remove the assembly from

the static-protective package. Avoid touching the components and gold-edge

connectors on the assembly.
